ABOUT Membership Guidelines

  1. Application for membership must be in writing and must be signed by the applicant. The application must be proposed by a member of the club who has been a member for over two (2) years and be seconded by one other member.
  2. The proposer and seconder shall vouch for the candidate from personal knowledge.
  3. Once an application has been submitted and has been reviewed by the membership committee, it shall be circulated to the wider membership who may raise a written objection to the candidate within two (2) weeks of its circulation.
  4. If an application for membership is rejected, the candidate may not re-apply before a period of six months has elapsed.
  5. The annual subscription shall be set at an extraordinary general meeting to be convened on or before November 30th in each year. It is due and payable upon submission of the application.
  6. New members elected after September 30 shall pay only half the annual membership fee for that year.
  7. Membership cards will be issued to paid-up members only. Fees are due and payable by February 1st of each year. Where a member pays the annual subscription after February 1, s/he will be liable to pay an additional sum being 30% of the annual subscription. Membership will be terminated if dues are not paid one month after the due date of payment and the member fails to respond to a due notice within 10 days. Those members must submit a new application form if they decide to join the club again.
  8. No member on resigning from the club shall be entitled to the return of his/her membership fee.
  9. The Club takes no responsibility for injuries or death of any member participating in the club's activities. Each member should ensure that s/he is medically fit to participate in the activities of the club and may be required to present a medical certificate if deemed necessary.
  10. Members are not allowed to bring pets to any club run or function.
  11. Persons under 18 years invited on a run must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  12. The Jamdammer members email list is restricted to club use only and may not be used for commercial or advertising purposes.

Code of Conduct for Club Members

  1. Members are expected to participate fully in club activities and be prepared to volunteer to help in any activity of the club.
  2. Members must co-host a weekly run at least once per year.
  3. Members who wish to bring a guest to a Saturday club run must seek the permission of the run hosts at least one day prior.
  4. Members must act as volunteers in at least one Jamdammer road race per year (and should assist in the staging of Reggae Marathon & Half Marathon).
  5. Jamdammers must be members in good standing at the running facility where they train (e.g. CS Golf Course).
  6. Members are expected to display good sportsmanship.
