Jamdammers Half Marathon

The Jamdammers Half Marathon on Saturday June 7th, totally exceeded all our expectations! Peter Melhado (1:27:11:13) and Elisabeth Mondon (1:34:26:55), the male and female winners of this first-of-its-kind Club race, deserve all the kudos we can throw at them. As expected, both established their dominance early in the race. However, we were awed by the quality in which they executed their wins. Standing at the Finish Line, we were delightfully swept-up by the enthusiasm displayed by each Jamdammer as they celebrated personal achievements and milestones. Congratulations to all who took on the Half Marathon challenge and toed the start line. You are all winners! Thank you to the race volunteers, supplemented by the St Judes Scout Troop, who showed a caring and committed spirit in supporting the competitors. We keep saying – ad nauseaum -- that only a Jamdammer knows what it takes to execute a race and our volunteers proved that we not B-Sing! The standard has been set for all comers! Starting on the south shore, runners cross the historic Quebec Bridge and finish in the heart of Old Québec.
