Hydration for Athletes
Hydration is a very important area of the dietary needs of anyone partaking in any exercise activities. It is important to get enough fluids before competition and training, but also it is important to re-hydrate after exercise to aid recovery.
How do you know if you are drinking enough? You should know when you are dehydrated. Feeling thirsty is not a good indicator - monitoring your urine is. This urine color test can help to guide you.

Jamaica Heart Foundation, charity partner of the Reggae Marathon. The Heart Foundation of Jamaica was established in 1971 by The Lions Club of Kingston in an effort to minimize the incidence of death from heart disease in Jamaia.
We participate in the Relay for Life of the Jamaica Cancer Society. The Jamaica Cancer Society is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, which was formed in 1955.

Jamdammers Half Marathon
Winner takes all! In its 2nd year, the Jamdammers Half Marathon on September 19, 2009 did not disappoint with an exciting ‘battle of the mawga man’ finish. Peter Melhado, last year’s winner, led from the start until David Ruault, with less than 200m to the finish line, powered past him to claim victory in 1:29:12. Peter, who later said he had been ‘devoured’ finished only 3 seconds behind in 1:29:15. Ricardo Neins was 3rd in 1:37:09. read more
